This workshop facilitates you best when you have bisqueware or leather-hard work in progress.
In this class we will mainly focus on glazing your bisque fired objects, but there are some different techniques we can help you with. Examples:
- Other decoration technics to add on your bisqueware; using underglaze before adding your glaze, using oxides on top of your glaze.
- Engobes on greenware; adding colored slip to your not yet fired ceramic piece and using carving methods to create a pattern or illustration.
- We can also explain more to you about using bodystains to mix color into your clay, slip or glaze.
We recommend you to work with Pansa’s in-house glazes, oxides and engobes.
You are allowed to bring in your own pre-mixed glazes, slips or stains, but please get in touch with us before the class, to check if these are ok to use.
Available Engobes at Pansa:
- Terracotta slip
- Black clay slip
- Porcelain slip
Fired work will be added to your firing allowance as a member or student. Excess firing will be charged €2,- per liter. You can pick up your work about 3 weeks after the workshop.
Only work made in the studio can be glazed and fired. If you didn't make any work in the studio, but want to join, we will have some test pieces to glaze. Firing does need to be payed for.
Although this is NOT a detailed glaze course, which dives deep into the scientific side of making/mixing glazes, you will get a bit more insight about glazes and the firing process.
After booking this class you will receive a confirmation e-mail, extra info about what to bring and an invoice for your purchase.
If you don't receive any e-mails, please check your spam box (this happens more often.)
If you have any other questions, please send us an e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
The courses are usually full, so we can’t move people between them. For more information check our terms & conditions.
